Not only did i wake up supreme early because i had to pee so bad that my eyes began to water, but i also went to sleep without eating last night because i didn’t feel like going downstairs.. hahah! CALORIE DEFICIT....sick of hearing it right??...COUNTING CALORIES?? ...should I be doing it?? More times than not, when i mention tracking calories, l get quite a defensive response. "I don't want to become OCD with my food" "I don't want to develop an unhealthy relationship with my food" Which are all very fair statements- particularly if your current relationship with food is already a bit rocky!! In my opinion, and from past experiance, a negative relationship with food, will only really occur if you over restrict from the get go.Leading towards the RESTRICT>BINGE>RESTRICT mentality!! Trust me it ain't the life, you can sugar coat it as "carb loading" as much as you want!!.., but if this behaviour is occurring more frequently than it is not, your walking on a very fine tightrope, ànd should be prioritising rebuilding a healthy relationship with your food before going anywhere near a calorie restriction. This is where a good PT/Nutritionist comes in. If your PT is prescribing you a diet of chicken, broccoli, tilapia and rice cakes with zero flexability you should probably run! Let me help you, if your diet is currently in the shitter 💩💩, allocate yourself 3000 calories each day 👉create 3 Meals, focus on on whole foods that you enjoy, and that provide a high enough volume to get you through at least 3 hours without hunger or snacking. 👉find "healthier" snack/treats that provide greater bang for buck in terms of calories to volume ratio, but still satisfy your same snack craving. I.e entire bag of BBQ popchips (Big Bag) = 85g -358 Cals vs entire bag of Doritos (Big Bag) 180g = 891 Cals Once you have your food sorted - use it to fuel your exercise and give each session 110%, with correct training, done consistently = 4x60-90 min of strength training a week along with 60 mins of total cardio a week, will probably be enough to get you in a calorie deficit!!
