9 BODYWEIGHT EXERCISES TO REDUCE LOWER BACK PAIN by sculptedmuscle - Dealing with lower back pain is no fun. As a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt I've had to learn this the hard way. Lower back problems can be debilitating both inside and outside of the gym. If you're truly serious about reaching your fitness goals, then you need to deal with this issue yesterday. - The first step is to kick your ego to the curb. Using heavy weight that you have no business lifting is only going to further complicate the problem. You want to train hard...but more importantly, you want to train SMART. These 9 low-impact bodyweight exercises will help improve the strength and durability of your lower back: - 1.) Cobra 2.) Side Planks 3.) Back Extensions 4.) Hip Raises 5.) Planks 6.) Pelvic Tilt 7.) Swiss Ball Pikes 8.) Supermans 9.) Bird Dog - Focus on performing each exercise with slow controlled movement and keep your reps between 10-25 per set. This never gets old! Seriously amazing, that another potential ‘bad day’ became a good day in training in the space of about 3-4mins. Also, taking injury risk from high to low is a good thing any which way you look at it. My first attempt at a full back lever collapsed inexplicably as it just felt as though I didn’t have the strength to even go close to holding this one. A quick (AMN) scan of my neurophysiology revealed an issue with my left superior biceps tendon, coming from my right nucleus centralised superior. High serotonin in both the brainstem & my circadian biology, linking to a gremlin protein (I love finding Gremlin proteins in a nervous system because things ALWAYS improve significantly once you clear them. Those little gremlins attach themselves to tendons & essentially make it very difficult for tendons to repair. If they can’t repair properly, then they can’t retain their max potential tensile strength). Anyway, the whole thing took about 3-4 mins to clear & it was a good day once again after that! Six years ago I started teaching Zumba. About that same time Elena and jackie_drago started coming to my classes. Jackie was just in high school, and she and her mom liked to come to class for a fun time working out together. Since then she has continued to come to my classes as regularly as she can after graduating, moving on to college, and then graduating college. Today she stopped by for possibly one final class together as she sets off for bigger and better things with her dream job in New York! I'll always save a spot - it's been an honor!

Regrann from mikaelbalancing - Straddle up to handstand technique This is one of the basic entrances to learn once the regular kick up is under reasonable control. Some even find the standing straddle up to be easier than a kick up. The first one demonstrates solid and consistent technique of the straddle up. Shoulders stay more or less in place as I jump and I roll up hand-shoulder-hip. Once my hips are placed im in a fully controlled handstand position and I can choose to do what I want with my legs. I prefer to stop in straddle and then close my legs if my goal is full control or I'm on a height. This smooth motion around the shoulders as you see here might need some preparation for most people as quite mobile shoulders are necessary to not cave in forwards. The 1 arm version is for show, but also to demonstrate the same principle in action. I push down and roll up which makes it so I can feel the control through the motion rather than going to the top and hoping I have arrived in a decent place to balance. The last jump up is a bit exaggerated, but it is what I call "the snake". I shoot shoulders forwards and try to get my hips over my hands before I stack the upper body. In this one I do not activate my trapezius to push at all until the end and by then I have fallen back down. This is a classic for those who lack range and/or strength in the shoulders. The shoulders will by default have to move in front and hence the only strategy to bring the hips on top is to arch.

7/17/18 You need to do head bang if you want to be part of the #bajgainz gang 😜 This looks like a goofy exercise (headbanger pull ups) that you probably might have not seen, but it actually has a lot of benefits. It works the core, back, biceps, triceps, chest, and shoulders in a unique way. Compared to a normal pull up, you are pushing yourself off of the bar while making sure that your head stays at bar level. This makes it a great endurance building and strengthening exercise.
