Downward Dog 🐕 Benefits: One of the many benefits of Downward Dog position is that it can ease back pain, since the position stretches and strengthens a majority of the muscles along the spine and back. It helps improve the over all circulation and elasticity of those muscles. Consistent exercise and stretching can help decrease inflammation which helps with longevity and aging! How too: Start in table top position, on your hands and knees. Your arms should be about shoulder width distance. Stretch your arms out, lift your butt and relax your back. Widening your finger and pressing your hands to the floor will help you keep your balance. Breath out, and tuck your toes beneath the ball mounts of your heals. Flex your abdomen, lift your knees off the ground and point your hips towards the sky, as well as using your butt muscles to pull your hips towards the back of the room. Try to straighten your legs as much as you can with out locking your knees. Push your hips away with your upper body, push your butt and thigh muscles up and back and gently push your heals to the ground. Do not over push your self further then what feels right.
