Since being on the most intense elimination diet ever, I've had to be quite mindful of everything I'm eating and where it came from. This has honestly been a positive experience, because I'm learning to make even more of my food from scratch! . Here we have fried plantains in lamb tallow and pink sea salt. 💕 . Cheers to being a better you every day! 🥂 . . .

The accuracy. I met a fellow eczema mom this morning and it was so refreshing to hear her story, her trials and her victories. Our conversation (and many conversations lately) has given me a renewed sense of responsibility and motivation to keep searching for the trigger to Logan's eczema and a treatment that works. Excited to see where our current treatment goes, Logan's skin is relatively clear and smooth and his scratching has been minimal. #smallvictories #eczemamom #eczemalife #eczemaawareness #momlife #momtribe #boymom #boymama #2boys2andunder #mamarunsoncoffee #caffeinatedmama #motherhoodunplugged #thatsdarling #familylove

Losing my outer beauty strengthen my inner one... now I have a heart of gold which is better than golden skin.... It made me emotionally strong and less caring about what peoples say... it made me discover my own strength.... it made me care others because I know how words feel... it made mw nonjudgmental and more loving... it made me support those who are suffering... it made me value life... it made me value my skin and little happiness in my lives... it made me value my health which most of us take for granted Thank you nationaleczema for celebrating Awareness month ... #EczemaMonth #EczemaMom #Eczema #Acne #Psoriasis #atopicdermatitis #eam18 #EczemaAwareness #Lifestyle #struggle #quotes #blog

You guys, this stuff has seriously helped Silas’ skin so much! I have tried hundreds of dollars worth of products and this is the best I’ve found! I used to have to use prescribed ointment on his body every single day, and since I started using this it’s 1x a week at most. His face is another story ( #eczemasucks). But I can rest a little easier knowing I don’t have to use much all over his body every day anymore. Plus, I use the all over ointment on my hands and it makes them as soft as a baby’s bottom. 😃 If your little one struggles with dry skin or eczema you should check out tubbytodd!

My guy was still hungry after he ate his dinner. So he asked for some more veggies! He said he “felt like he needed more veggies today”. YESSSS BUDDY! Eat those veggies! . . When I told him I was proud of him for making a healthy choice, he explained that he just liked eating veggies so he’d be healthier as an adult! I had to share this solution for anyone who feels like they are fighting a losing battle with eczema-induced scratching and the cycle of torn up skin, flares, and more scratching. Andrew's main lingering area that flares is the backs of his knees. Our "why didn't we do this much sooner" idea is to wrap his legs with fabric Ace bandages, especially at night time. We use his skin roller first (I included the image of the ingredients that go into that. There's also a post farther down my feed that explains in more detail.) and then wrap the bandages from his upper thigh to mid-calf. Over the years we've tried multiple other options. Scratch Sleeves helped some, especially when dealing with terrible flares on his face, but he could still do some damage through the thin fabric. For a while he was constantly in a double layer of pants to provide extra protection. I think these bandages work so well because not only do the multiple layers protect his skin from any scratching, but the mild compression it provides actually helps relieve the itchy feeling to begin with. I'll admit, there were definitely some tears the first few nights we were putting bandages on, and we had to explain to him that this was not a punishment but something to help him feel better. However, he got to where he would actually request to leave his bandages on during the day instead of just at night. We don't have to use these bandages daily anymore. (This photo is actually from his last real flare in July.) If Andrew starts to have a flare and starts scratching again we pay attention to any changes in his diet or environment, make sure he gets a good Epsom salt bath with skin soothing essential oils, apply his skin roller often, and wrap up his legs with the bandages to protect them. We're still working to treat the root cause of his eczema and heal his gut, but I'm grateful we have solutions like this to make him more comfortable during the process.

National Eczema Awareness Month #unhideeczema 🌸 Sydney has controlled her eczema using eczemahoneyco it was such a life saver!! Medicated hydrocortisone didn’t work ... Plus, steroid creams on babies are only temporarily relief & cause discoloration. Aquaphor, Eucerin, Vaseline... tried it all & nothing worked like eczemahoneyco. We stopped using it in the summer since it’s super thick and I couldn’t imagine how it would feel in the summer heat and around mosquitoes & bees. Winter skin care routine consists of lots of chamomile baths & #eczemahoneyco ! 🛀❤️❤️ #eczemamom #newborneczema

I’ve gotten some new followers lately (yay!) so I thought I’d just do a little intro of myself and explain the journey I’ve been on. I apologize in advance for the seriousness of this post. Maybe I’ll do a fun facts intro about me later if you guys want. 😊 I am married to the funniest guy around and have 3 boys. My youngest started developing eczema on his face when he was about 3 months old. It quickly turned into an all over his body ordeal. And I don’t exaggerate when I say that he looked like a burn victim. 😥 Red inflamed skin, multiple infections, scaly patches. It was awful and probably the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. To see your sweet baby go through something so painful and feel utterly helpless put me in a very dark place. He was waking up every 30 minutes at night for months so I wasn’t sleeping, and still taking care of my 2 other small children. We have spent thousands of dollars trying to treat this skin condition from hell. Multiple dermatologists, allergists, naturopath doctors, different natural remedies, steroids, etc. We have had so many people pray for his healing (yes, I absolutely believe God can heal him!) I could go on an on about the whole process. Maybe one day I’ll start a blog and explain it all. He’s doing much better now, but still has flare ups on a regular basis. As I write this I’m trying to deal with a big flare up on his face. 😬 Anyway, I quickly figured out that I am the only one who will advocate for my child, I am the one who takes care of him day in and day out, who decides what goes in and on his body. That’s a lot of responsibility! And so I researched. And researched and researched. And what I have learned has made me change my habits. I have a lot to say on this topic, but for the sake of not losing your attention span I’ll just say that I am now an advocate for clean beauty products, toxin free cleaners, less plastic and waste, and healthy eating (aIthough I still have a downfall for potato chips 😝). I love learning about all of this and am excited to pass on what I learn! Thanks for following along with me, and I hope you enjoy my little tips and pics of my kiddos! 😊
