Just killed a back and bicep workout! Back and biceps is one of my favorite days!! I don't know about you guys but I love the feeling of being completely worn after a workout! - I tend to give my all in the gym and I'm finally starting to see progress!! It feels amazing to see progress! Even though I've been working out and lifting on and off for a couple years, this is the first time I've stuck with a program so consistently! It definitely shows and I'm really hard on myself so that's saying something lol - In these 66 days I trying to break a habit as well as form some! The habit I am trying to break is comparing myself to others! The problem I had today was, I was bridesmaid dress shopping with a couple people for my friends wedding and I am naturally built with a wide back and big shoulders and so I have to get a larger shirt or dress to accommodate my wide back and sometimes that upsets me. So I didn't really try on too many dresses because I didn't want to go up a size because the other girls wore the same size and I was embarrassed to go up a size from them. So I just let them try on the dresses. I'm kind of sad I did that because it's just a number. They're my friends and I should have realized that they wouldn't care. But like anyone, I still get insecure sometimes. The thing I need to learn is just like the scale, the size you wear is just a number. It doesn't define me! - Love yourself no matter what!! You will be so much happier when you just say f**k the numbers!! Nutrition planning – eat right, train right! Your meal timing is half the battle. ⠀ ⠀ Knowing what to eat based on your training is also critical. ⠀ ⠀ Learn to cook when you are young – it is way cheaper to eat at home that to order in or eat at a restaurant… and way healthier in most cases.⠀ ⠀ I created a Cooking and Recipe Guide for the athletes I mentor. You can find it at buff.ly/2mWfgQ5⠀ ⠀ You Don't Have Time? ⠀ ⠀ “Not having time” is just a matter of priorities. If learning how to cook isn't a priority for you, then you're doomed, regardless of effort. If cooking is important to you, you can make time by shifting around other activities. For example, before I learned how to cook, I'd get home from work each night and watch TV. Tackle this block with the following steps:⠀ ⠀ 1. Write it down. Start by recording what you do every day when you get home, along with a rough estimate of how much time you spend doing each activity. Don’t leave anything out. Do you go out for drinks with friends? Watch TV? Play games on your phone? Write everything down.⠀ ⠀ 2. Prioritize. Next, look at each item on the list and think about whether or not it’s more important to you than cooking yourself a healthy meal. Maybe you can cut 30 minutes out of watching TV or cut out Angry Bird completely. Find the time.⠀ ⠀ 3. Try it out. Commit to a one-week trial in which you swap in cooking activities for the time you would have spent doing a task of lesser importance. Once that week is over, commit to another week—and so on.
