🌴I was recently asked about estrogen dominance in our academy by a member. Here are a few of my thoughts. - 🍉If your someone who is training regularly and “eating well” but still getting average to no results estrogen dominance could be hand braking your progress. - 🍓What is Estrogen? - 👉🏻Estrogen is a feminising hormone that both man and women have in the body (women just have more of). Estrogen is made out of testosterone and is important to maintaining healthy bones, skin, nails and cardiovascular health. It is an extremely important hormone to have but like anything, if we have to much it begins to be problematic. - 🥑Estrogen Dominance - 👉🏻Estrogen is proliferative, which means it stimulates growth. It stimulates fat growth so those that are estrogen dominant find it hard to lose weight especially in estrogen fat locations such as lower abdomen, love handles, hips, buttocks, thighs and backs of the arms and may show signs of blood clotting, fluid retention, poor circulation and headaches. - ✅ It is important to note that women and men can carry estrogen dominant fat in different locations. Please see below for a general guide (swipe the photo left). - 👉🏻Having high estrogen levels in the body can cause many problems therefore stripping out estrogen may be beneficial for both man and women. It is important to note that this does not involve blocking estrogen production or activity, we are referring to working with the body’s natural pathways to make and use estrogen for all of its essential health benefits and menstrual cycle and fertility etc. but then making sure it is efficiently detoxified and eliminated to be stripped from the body rather than accumulate. - ✅ To strip out excess estrogen from the body it must be metabolised and excreted. Awareness vs over-thinking: Being aware of the make-up of your meusli/granola vibes (ie. It does contain a certain amount of fats, sugars etc) is not the same as analysing and fearing the make-up of your meusli/granola vibes (ie. The fat will make me fat and the sugars will make me gain weight!). Be aware of what you put in your mouth and aknowledge the ingredients in a product, but don't let it stop you from eating a sugary granola here or a buttery rusk there. Some days call for some comfort afterall) Ps. If you DO want to control what's in your morning bowl, here's how to make this #sugarfree pistachio, sesame and orange granola/meusli: 4 cups oats 1/2 cup pistachios 1/2 cup sesame seeds 1/3 cup coconut oil 1 banana Juice + zest of 1 orange 1. Mix together the dry 2. Blitz together the wet with a stick blender 3. Mix the wet through the dry 4. Bake at 180°C for 30-40 mins on a baking tray 5. Guten Morgen, immernoch sprachlos über die wahnsinnig vielen Nachrichten und Glückwünsche starte ich heute mit BircherMüsli in den Tag! Gestern habe ich euch in den Stories einen Einblick in mein Mealprep gegeben - interessiert euch sowas? Das Bircher Müsli ist so lecker, abends einfach zuzubereiten, gesund, variabel und zuckerfrei! Besser als jedes fertige Müsli. Ich habe es mir gleich für zwei Tage zubereitet, damit ich heute Abend was anderes machen kann als Mealprep ☺ Für mich ist Essen richten zum einen toll, weil ich mich dann immer schon auf die nächste Mahlzeit freuen kann und ausserdem kommt man mit guten, gesunden Lunchboxen nicht so in Versuchung, zwischendurch zu Naschen oder jeden Tag beim Bäcker was zu holen.
