This might mean a short walk on your lunch break, a stroll with your husband or wife after dinner, a gym or at home workout or morning run. Remember high impact exercise may not be the best thing for people with adrenal or thyroid issues. But movement and exercise is absolutely necessary for improving those conditions. NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK 🥗 • 🍅 #tryfor5. Only 4% of Aussies eat this amount of veggies each day and yep, some days I’m included in this figure 🤭 🥑 This years theme - small change, big gains. So focusing on small, easy ways to include more veggies in your meals. 🍆 Why 5 a day? Better mental health, less chance of diabetes/obesity/some cancers/heart disease, a better immune system, our liver loves them (hello beetroot), we need them for good skin (shout out to all the brightly coloured mates), they can lower cholesterol, are supes good for hormones, amazing for eye health, give us fibre for that all-important happy, healthy gut, can help us maintain a healthy weight. The list goes on. 🥦 How to include more? Add spinach, kale, avo, celery or cucumber to your smoothie. Grate some carrot into your oats with walnuts. My best curries have been created by just adding any and all veg I had in the fridge and making up a curry base. Use cauliflower rice for that curry. Snack on carrot sticks, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes. Make veggie chips. Zoodles! Use greens as wraps for tacos or sandwiches. If you are making pasta or pizza - add spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, Brussels, pumpkin, you get the picture... 🥒 Hot tip - sack the crisper drawer off and store your veggies on the shelves. As soon as you open the fridge, you’ll see them and be wayyyyy more likely to use them. 🌶 If you need more tips or some extra dietary advice, hit me up!

I've been struggling these past two weeks. Yes, I still show up, but behind it all, I have been on a complete self doubting, I can't do this anymore funk. I haven't been sleeping well. I have been waking up later than I should and completely grouchy AF, like I'm on my period. On rest days, my eating is off balanced, I've been eating 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% veggies. And I feel sooo bleh, but this is absolutely not me.😣 __ Since the fiance was sick this past weekend, I decided to get me some alone time and picked up my all time favorite book, You are a Badass and it was totally meant to be. I came across this quote: "Don't waste your precious gifts, and life, drowning in doubt." __ Thank you jensincero for the reminder because today, I woke up, drank some #liquidlightning, planned put my day out and did my 15 min of cardio. And damnnn does it feel AMAZING. ❤ For the next two weeks, I'm dialing in and giving my BEST in all aspects of my being. __ If anyone else out there feels lost, unmotivated, or you feel yourself going in a downward spiral, I challenge you to start reciting 3 things that you’re grateful for, start eating fresh fruits and veggies, go walking outside and feel the sunshine or rain or whatever weather is thrown way.
