Today was a cardio based day 🙃 I did 4x12 with 405lbs. I was gonna do 4x20 but that's just silly 😛 #fatboycardio Whether you're at home, at work, at school, or out and about you are likely performing some version of a deadlift every day. Thus, performing an actual deadlift can help you be more prepared for your everyday tasks. Every once in awhile try throwing in a few low-resistance, high-repetition deadlifts sets into your workout. Not only is it beneficial for everyday functionality it's great for building muscular endurance, allowing you to produce force over an extended period of time. In addition to that if weight-loss is a goal. The deadlift is particularly well-suited for that because it recruits many different muscles, which requires the expenditure of a high level of calories. Generally, the more muscle tissue an exercise recruits, the harder your body has to work to perform it, resulting in many calories being burned away. HOWEVER, if your sacrificing form and technique to do high repetitions on your deadlift then I gotta stop you there. The best way I can say this is lift with specific intention and control. Do not move the weights using muscles that are causing you to compensate to execute that movement. Moving more weight doesn't matter if you aren't using the muscles you're initially trying to target in the first place. I can't stress this enough how important tension is in weight training. Our muscles don't know how much weight is being lifted, but it knows how much tension is being generated. This means squeezing and contracting the muscle, and not just moving the fucking weight needs to be the focal point. #technician

DEFINITELY lost a little bit over the last week. But, vacations are known for that. Gotta take the good with the bad. I felt so much more rested up and ready to go, my body was feeling great. Had a SUPER long day today and of hard work and this was the way to kick it all off!
