In 1583, Hideyoshi Toyotomi (1537-1598), a powerful feudal lord and warrior during the Sengoku period, built Osaka Castle during a period of unrest which had followed numerous wars over the previous decades. Obsessed with gold, Hideyoshi insisted that gold be applied to much of the castle’s interior furnishing. #osakacastle #osaka #goldcastlefurnishing #rtwtravel #wanderer #travelersnotebook #wandering #theglobewanderer #travelpic #travelphotographer #keepexploring #travellers #welivetoexplore #travelmore #wanderfolk #adventureculture #wandern #adventurer #wanderlustwednesday #cntraveler #travelph #travelers #ilovetravel #travelogue #travelporn

City VS Town: 7 Reasons Why Suburbs Can Make You Happy ⠀ You know how they say “Never say never”? Some time ago I would not agree to live in a small town, yet here I am, proving to myself wrong. I am happier now despite of my old habits and high expectations. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Rent. We pay twice less for 60m² in Cáceres than I paid in Moscow for 25m². When moving to Spain, check and compare average prices on idealista.com (Cáceres 4.63 eur/m² VS Barcelona 17.70 eur/m²) 2️⃣ Transportation. Less traffic in small towns = more joy of driving. Buses and cabs are cheaper than in the city, but I get almost everywhere by walking anyway. 3️⃣ Medical care is great in Spain. Public clinics or private - matter of preference. In a small town you pay and queue less. 4️⃣ Jobs. Known fact: bigger cities - more opportunities. With higher competition coming along. Many people start small in suburbs to move their grown business to the capital later. And those lucky ones with the remote job have less expenses here. 5️⃣ Socialisation - the only thing I don’t like here. In a big city meeting people isn’t even a task. In a small town you study and work with the same people you know since your childhood. #FindFriendsOrDieTrying 6️⃣ Variety and Accessibility. Shopping is easy: we’re living the Internet era. Also Cáceres has many little shops selling clothes made in Europe (+1 to karma for supporting local business). Zara is here, too, but please reconsider buying from this brand. When it comes to parties, I say it’s a bummer. I’m a spoiled city-girl that likes fancy cocktails and hates #reggaeton, which is here at every bar. Do I crave cosmos and sours just because I can’t have them? 7️⃣ Personal goals. I’m here to torture José and learn Spanish. The last one is easy because no one around speaks English. You know better what you want and what you are looking for. I’ll lie if I say I don’t miss the vibes of Moscow and Madrid. But if I could make a choice again, I’d still rather be here than anywhere else. Have you ever moved from one place to another? What was the most challenging task? ⠀⠀ #koz_spain
