When training abs, make sure you’re training them the RIGHT way. Doing 500 crunches every morning isn’t the most efficient way to get that six pack you’re dreaming about. The reason for this, is that the function of the rectus abdominus is to stabilize the spine. Exercises that focus on stability like these are going to have many advantages over crunches and ab machines. The exercises in order are: •Plank- the plank is a great exercise because it is really as hard as you are willing to make it. By squeezing the abs harder, keeping a posterior pelvic tilt, protracting the scapula, and even adding weight, the plank will reap many benefits. •Dragon flag- this is a more advanced exercise, and shouldn’t be attempted until you have mastered the basic plank and are properly going through the progressions. This exercise puts lots of stress on the abs and is in my opinion almost as difficult as the standing ab rollout. •the last exercise I mentioned is the V sit. A little more difficult than an L sit, it requires flexibility, and good hip flexor strength as well as hitting the abs hard. Flexibility is something I still work on, and hip mobility is a super important factor in this exercise. Other exercises I’d recommend are: •hollow body hold •boat hold •L sit •ab rollout •front lever progressions Implement exercises like these into your workouts and you’ll be well on your way to that six pack😎Please like, follow, and comment for more content like this and enjoy showing off those gains!
