Swipe right to see the infamous photo that started it all! When Kula creator anastasia.allison stared using a p-cloth She didn’t like the idea of a bandanna, so she bought a scrap of microfiber to use. To be funny she started taking photos of it in various spectacular locations. On one such occasion, she took a photo of her scrap of cloth on the wind river hire out. Suddenly, I thought popped into her mind, “I wish that looked a lot cooler.” And so, with absolutely zero experience in the textile industry, Anastasia set out to design the perfect P-cloth. And intentionally and obsessively designed piece of gear for adventurous women. Stay tuned to our website - pre-sales are opening so soon and each run of cloths as we continue to grow will feature limited edition prints. What type of prints would you love to see? We are thinking (obviously) mountains, trees, wildlife, ocean scenes... but we would love to do anything that is unique and beautiful and will look incredible on your pack or in your purse! . . . . . . . . . . #washingtonstate #womenwhoexplore #womenwhohike #hikerlife #createyourtrail #girlslovehiking #mountainvibes #pnwoutdoorwomen #Mountaingirls #mtnchicks #pnwonderland #thisdayincludesme #forceofnature #staykula #adventureelopement #forceofnature #adventuremamas #choosemountains #pnw #northcascades #trailchat #washingtonhikersandclimbers #seattlemet #outdoorwomen #washingtontrails #hikerchicksrock #cascades #visitseattle #Impacttheory

This is what Smith Rock looks like at close to 100°F. Just as beautiful, but brings meaning to the name of Misery Ridge Trail.

Being on top of the world doesn’t mean anything unless you know how its like to be on the bottom. You can always be winning but you don’t always have to be unpleasant. 🧗‍♂️ Looking down from the top of Aasgard Pass after climbing up with a pack full of food and supplies for the next few days. Glad to share this view with so many fun adventurers and new friends! Until next time, keep roaming! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #behumble #winning #viewfromthetop #mountainsarecalling #theenchantments #enchantments #leavenworth #inspirationlake #backpacking #explorewashington #thatpnwlife #pnwonderland #wanderwashington #theNWadventure #upperleftusa #roamtheplanet #explore #optoutside #travelgram #unitedoutside #adventuretime #welivetoexplore #awesomeearth #placeswow #beautifulmatters #gopro #goprofusion #lifein360 #panoramic #iamanything

Cutting vs Plucking: The great debate of mushroom foragers. Tradition for harvesting techniques runs strong in some circles, but what does science say? Only two significant studies have been done on this (that I know of, please inform me if you know of another!). “The Swiss Study” (1975) which happened in Switzerland and all fungi were catalogued. Then the “Cantherellus Project", which ran ten years long in the ’90’s, it was done in Oregon within a protected forest with no public access and only Chanterelles were harvested and catalogued. Neither study produced evidence that one way was significantly better than the other when it comes to sustainability and continued mushroom production. Arguments for why one is better than the other go both ways…but so far nothing proves either—if anything, the tiny (tiny) margin favors the side of plucking. Might each mushroom respond different? Very possible. Trampling of an area and disturbing the mycelia beds are bigger threats to mushroom production, but the biggest threat is lost of habitat, we should be most concerned about that. If you’re interested in some easy reading (it really is, not a scientific paper!), give this article a read: “Agaricidal Tendencies: Settling the Debate Over Cutting vs Picking, and the Sustainability of Wild Mushroom Collecting” by Britt A. Bunyard.
