💥REP RANGES💥 - - - Follow mr_wasay for 🔑 fitness and nutrition tips - - - I had fun with these intersecting circles below. I’ve listed out ideal rep ranges for your goals, but as noted in the graphic, you can build muscle with any of the rep ranges and get stronger in any of the rep ranges. - You can, for example, build appreciable muscle in the 2-4 rep range. However, you’ll need several sets to do it - typically 5-7. - If you want to build maximal strength, you’re going to need to focus on the 2-4 rep range (you don’t need and actually shouldn’t be maxing out frequently with 1 rep). - The 5-8 rep range is the crossroads between strength and muscle, and is probably my favorite rep range for that reason. - 9-12 reps is the classic muscle building range and works extremely well. Once you start training above 10 reps - generally speaking - lifting becomes a bit safer. I’m not saying you shouldn’t train below 10 reps - you absolutely should to maximize results - you just need to be very conscious of using great form. - 12-15 reps is the middle ground between hypertrophy and muscular endurance, and 15-20 reps is a classic muscular endurance range. Don’t be fooled though - you can still build muscle in the 15-20 rep range, just make sure you are using challenging weights.
