Well... today was FUN! Power Jerk doubles and handstand walk into holds. All my favorites! * I’ve lost a lot of weight since being injured. Most of it muscle so seeing some strength gains makes me SO HAPPY! * Side note: At first I thought I was getting a good lesson in patience through this journey, but for me, the harder part is restraint. I always want to do what my mind remembers me doing. It doesn’t seem to understand the trauma my body has been through or recovering from. Having to be the “wise one” between me and myself all the time is tiring. It’s hard constantly having to stop yourself from doing what you WANT to do in exchange for what you SHOULD do. Honesty post! I took 4 days off from working out when we took a trip back to GA - even though I took all my gear 🙄 super lame I know. My body hasn't been on my side the last couple weeks because Dan's deployment is drawing closer and I don't handle stress well - it manifests physically in not-so-fun ways 🤢. BUT it has felt so good to push through and get back in a routine the last couple of days. It sucks feeling more tired than usual but that's not an excuse to quit. If anything, it will make me work even harder just to prove myself a point. Giving up is NEVER an option so even if you're having a bad day, a bad week, or hell even a bad year, exercise can be an outlet for you to get out all the BS and focus on yourself. What are your methods of handling stress? I am better than I was. I’ll be better than I am. . Today was a special kind of day at the gym. I forgot to pack a hair tie. My wireless headphones were dead. My allergies are out of control with the weather switching back and forth between winter and spring. But I got in there. I put in the work. I came out on the other side feeling stronger, accomplished and invincible. . What makes or breaks your workout, your mood, your day, your life... it’s you. . I don’t even recognize that girl on the left. I was 19, away at college, filled with anxiety and depression, and on top of that I was gaining more weight than ever. • If I could talk my 19 year old self I’d tell her: 1. Get your butt to church. That’s where you find your love for Jesus and end up making the most amazing friends you could ever imagine. 2. Cookie dough is not meant to be eaten out of the tube. And certainly not on a daily basis. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 3. Starbucks green tea is only healthy when you don’t put 6 pumps of sugar in it. 😳 4. You hate running. Stop trying to be a runner and then quitting. Go find something you actually like to do! 5. It gets better. One day you will LOVE your job, be in love with a wonderful man, be planning a move to a super cool city, and be really, REALLY proud of who you are! 😊 • My goal everyday is to wake up and be the person I needed in my life when I was younger. Day 547: TC-day 52: Strength 💪 complete! Officially done all the workouts needed this week for the challenge, but why stop now 🤔? Going for all 56 🤗! Definitely wasn't feeling strong today 😳, so I was happy when I saw the weight floor block 😁. Felt more "endurancey" than strength to me 🤔🤷‍♀️. Loved all that rowing! I need to rack up those meters 🚣‍♀️! The tread blocks were great today! Those inclines were fun, but I cramped up near the end and just chilled out in the green zone 😄. And I'm not even hungry, but I'm craving crap 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️.
