My classes are based on Koshas: energetic layers including physical, emotional, energetic, wisdom & spiritual. They provide a system of exploration into our well being w/ yoga poses & other yogic and ayurvedic methods to heal. Most people start in the physical, as their practice develops move to deeper levels. Yoga is not about a perfect looking physical pose, it's deeper than that. Every body is different & will look, feel unique in a pose. Never compare yourself to another yogi. Bridge Pose through Koshas: Balancing Doshas: Vata: focus on grounding (bring your head out of the clouds, back into body) Pitta: focus on non-effort (stop trying so hard) Kapha: use Vinyasas (get up, start moving, flow in & out of this posture) When you're feeling emotionally out of control bridge is an excellent pose to bring you back to balance. Chakras: Third (yellow, base of sternum) Our vitality, strength of will, purpose. Fourth (green, heart): Balance, compassion, acceptance. Fifth (blue, throat): Our ability to clearly communicate, feel heard & our creativity. If you feel you have something to say or are not being heard, bridge pose can help find your voice. When we are going through something emotional we slouch and concave the chest. Opening and lifting the chest also opens up chakras allowing us to heal & find our voice. Physical: Congestion, cough, sore throat (inversion of chest helps with draining of mucus) Strengthen hamstrings, glutes (lift balls of feet to target this area) Open & stretch chest, shoulders Massages kidneys, thyroid, adrenal glands (great for thyroid imbalance, cleansing adrenals when ill) “I am the bridge to my own true self” - author unknown.

Half moon pose provides benefits of enhanced focus and proprioception, bettering us as the judges of our own lives and intentions, preparing us for the careful examination of needs against desires, vices against virtues. 💵🚬💊 🍸🍩🖕🏻🗣 ⏳ My BONUS challenge for you is a tough, soul-searching kind of question: What aspect of your life is worth changing TODAY, and what has been tipping the scales in the other direction until now? For me, this is Practice vs. Procrastination I don’t reach all my creative goals because I need to use my time more wisely. Am I brave enough to chase my dreams further in 2018? Do I have the discipline to go as far as my imagination so often takes me? I guess we shall see! 🌗To explore Half Moon Pose 🌓 Feet hip-width, forward fold. Place L hand down .5-1ft ahead of L foot. This leg and arm should be parallel. Bring R hand to hip, lift R leg behind you. Flex the foot, engage muscles to stabilize. Turn chest and hips open to the right. Extend R arm upward, slowly. Keep everything engaged! Gently turn your gaze past fingertips, even if just for a moment. Engage muscles to reach outward and keep straight, “between 2 panes of glass”. To EXIT: Turn the torso downward and lower the arm and leg evenly and with control. 🌿 Can’t find your balance today? Try with a wall behind you! Can’t reach the floor? Incorporate a block to place your hand on. Too easy for you advanced yogis?
