Our society and culture has taught us that happiness and health come with a certain size and appearance. This has created glorious opportunities for the diet industry to make money by keeping people coming back over and over again because they are set out to fail from the get go. Diets are not the answer. Weight loss is not the answer. We could all eat and exercise the exact same way but we would still all look very different! Most bodies are not meant to fit this ridiculous standard that has been set out for us by the media and our society so why is it that we continue to try to force it upon ourselves? That is not “health.” Everyone’s body has a place where it is healthiest and functions at it’s best. It looks different for everybody and your body WILL fight you tirelessly to get to that point. Dieting destroys the bodies natural responses and functions which will leave you worse off than when you started. Weight loss DOES NOT equal health and your body will do its best to prevent this if it is not what is best. It is time that we accept that we are all meant to look different and that there is no perfect or ideal body. 💥🥑Take chicken salad to a new level with the addition of avocado. This naturally creamy chicken and avocado salad is healthy and contains no mayo or sour cream !🥗💥 - Ingredients 2 medium cooked chicken breasts, shredded or chopped (we used rotisserie chicken) 2 ripe avocados, pitted and diced ½ cup corn (roasted, canned, or frozen) ¼ cup red or green onion, minced 2 tablespoons cilantro, minced (or parsley or dill) 2 tablespoons lime (or lemon) juice 2 tablespoons olive oil salt and pepper to taste - 👉Instructions In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, avocado, onion, avocados, corn, and cilantro. Drizzle with the lime (or lemon) juice, olive oil and season with salt and pepper. When contemplating change, it's important to know that some things need to go to make room for the new. The stickier stuff - the stuff that might contribute to stagnancy or complacency. Sometimes it’s activity, food, mood, attitude... sometimes it’s even people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . It's rare that we can get to our best simply by adding on. Typically we have to re-assess, and then shuffle around what we let in. The best things usually come from some element of sacrifice. . Put more emphasis into that which draws you closer to the life you want (maybe it's workouts, making a financial commitment, maybe it's strengthening your supportive relationships), and perhaps do a bit of weeding of those things that might be muddying up that path. . It's not always easy, but it is certainly always worth it. #glow #regenerate #change
