True story: During my time on active duty I really disliked running. I was a beast with my push ups and sit ups and could max those areas of the PT test easily. I would always have to try harder when it came to the run. I so happened to be part of a unit that ALL we did was run. Trails, hills, with boots, snow,rain,heat, full gear, carrying water jugs, litter carries, battle buddy carries, carrying our ruck sacks etc...Though I struggled a lot through my runs I absolutely loved running with my platoon, company and division runs. Singing cadence or simply just hearing footsteps. No GPS watches telling me how fast or far we were going. No headphones or flip belts. Just us and the road. I miss that. In fact if you look at my running playlist now you will find many cadences on there. The point is though I didn't really like the act of running I enjoyed many aspects of the run. That is what kept me going. They are who pushed and pulled me to show up and give my best effort every time. Sometimes remembering the reasons and why you choose to lace up and put one foot in front of the other is good enough reason to keep showing up. Upper body strength training done for the day.

Just doing monkey things 🙉🙈🙊 - - - I've really been trying to incorporate more calisthenics into my workouts just really been enjoying doing all the pull ups, pushups, and dips lately. I think it's so important to not only be strong but be able to me mobile and explosive in your movements and with your body! Excited to see what tricks I will learn in the future.
