“So I'll meet you in the rough, By the side of the creek. In the woods what will we find? This day was made for you and I. Everything is green. High above the hill, I could see for miles There wasn't any doubt I could see the light. There wasn't any doubt as your read your lines. In the woods what will we find? This day was made for you and I.” essexgreen

Cliffside camping, impressing people with my speed glissading, and summiting the second highest peak in Washington. Adams, you might be number 2, but you’re my number 1 (for now). . . . . . #hikelikeagirl #pnwhiking #upperleftisbest #wanderwashington #washingtonstate #washingtonbeauty #womenwhohike #washingtonexplored #pnwhikerbabes #pnwonderland #optoutside #washingtonhikersandclimbers #mtadams #rei1440project #sheexplores #exploretocreate #climblikeagirl lander 📸 fanfoxingtastic

Rainier update🏔 We are down off the mountain safe and sound but unfortunately did not summit today. We put in some serious work over the last couple months to prepare for this trip and it really sucks to fall short. Here’s the run down: We left Muir around 1am to start the final push towards the summit. We made some great progress and kept a steady pace. Throughout the night, you could see headlamps of climbers in the distance moving towards the summit which helped guide our ascend. As we reached Disappointment Cleaver, 50 headlamps were coming down off the mountain towards us and we knew something was wrong. We chatted with the climbers and turns out a snow bridge along the route was thin and very, very questionable (there were deep crevasses beside and below it). It was probably passable heading to the summit while things were icy, however the return to camp would have been sketchy and the bridge was likely to collapse with the warm weather and sun. We decided to push on to see it for ourselves and they were was definitely questionable. We made it up to 12,500 feet where we enjoyed the sunrise before heading back to camp. It definitely sucked to turn back but sometimes it is simply out of your hands. Better safe than sorry....the mountain will always be there for another attempt.😅
