DAY 18.. QUADS/ABS.. Out of order again but gotta adapt to what's thrown at me. Today were hitting quads really hard and some core. First up, leg extensions, do one dropset of 25 reps, drop, then 25 more. Rest and then complete a big add on set: do a lighter weight for 10 reps, then add weight, 10 more, add weight 10 more, until you get to 50 total reps. After that is a superset, landmine squats paired with hex bar squats. Do 3 supersets of 25 reps each. Well, it’s taken about 2 months, but my LOVE for lifting weights is back! All the cardio I was doing, up to an hour a day, wasn’t working. What’s the saying....Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So I went back to what I know....and what worked 20 years ago....lifting weights. Between that, and addressing my insulin resistance, slowly but surely things are changing. But most importantly, I’m ENJOYING my workouts again! 👏 What a gift! I’d forgotten how good it feels to feel strong! Not to mention how hilarious it is when I’m lifting heavier than the guy next to me!! Here’s one to save if you’re looking at gaining better technique in some of the basic movements.‼️ • It’s not always about lifting heavy to build muscle.
