The Jungle Babbler (Turdoides striata) is a member of the family Leiothrichidae found in the Indian subcontinent. They are gregarious birds that forage in small groups of six to ten birds, a habit that has given them the popular name of "Seven Sisters" in urban Northern India, and Saath bhai (seven brothers) in Bengali with cognates in other regional languageswhich also mean "seven brothers".[2] #birds #multiple #birdsofafeatherflocktogether #birdsofinstagram #indianwildlifeoffical #wildlifephotography #agameoftones #dslrofficial #nikonindia #photographers_abode #photographers_of_india #oph #i_hobbygraphy #indiantravelgram #indiantravelsquad #india_sb #pixel_panda #passion_passport #instawild #phodus_competition #myshoeboxofphotographs #solo #ngtindia #natgeotravel #_coi #earthfocus #aperturearea #vscocam

It was a drowsy afternoon and a herd of elephants had just finished playing at Malatse Dam in Pilanesberg National Park when zebras, kudus, and giraffes also decided to quench their thirst. This one hour at the hide was extremely special. An old man was gushing as how this moment is so magical while another lady was trying to get her perfect picture. My friends and I also thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This journey of giraffes also stayed for a while and drank water before having their brunch. #pilanesberg #pilanesberg_ pilanesberg_ #pilanesbergnationalpark #SouthAfrica #africa #giraffes #naturephotography #nature #solotrip #wildlifephotography #nikonworld_ #nikon #nikonwildlife #instalike #instapic #instagram #animalsofinstagram #animalsofig #igers #northwest #wild #wildlifeaddicts #wildlifephoto #wildlife #giraffe #travelgram

Day 3 of the Kenyan Shakedown! And it’s about time for a bird, the abundance and diversity of the birds in Kenya is incredible and I was very lucky to have some knowledgable and eagle eyed people with me! So here’s the Tawny Eagle (I think?!) Aquila rapax. #eagle #raptor #tawnyeagle #africa #policykenya #fieldkenya #bird #fieldtrip #kenya #fieldcoursefortnight #wildlife #wildlifephotography #birdsofinstagram #flying #takeflight #wings #nature #nikon #sigma #davehudsonphotography #natgeowild #angelwings #beauty

The Andean condors are massive birds, among the largest in the world that are able to fly. Because they are so heavy (up to 33 pounds), even their enormous 10-foot wingspan needs some help to keep them aloft. For that reason, these birds prefer to live in windy areas where they can glide on air currents with little effort. Andean condors are found in mountainous regions, as their name suggests, but also live near coasts replete with ocean breezes and even deserts that feature strong thermal air currents. It is a large black vulture with a ruff of white feathers surrounding the base of the neck and, especially in the male, large white patches on the wings. The head and neck are nearly featherless, and are a dull red color, which may flush and therefore change color in response to the bird's emotional state. In the male, there is a wattle on the neck and a large, dark red comb or caruncle on the crown of the head. Unlike most birds of prey, the male is larger than the female. The condor is primarily a scavenger, feeding on carrion. It prefers large carcasses, such as those of deer or cattle. #lonelyplanet #justgoshoot #visualsoflife #wcswildview #nakedplanet #birdofprey #thewildlifebiologist #earthtodolist #nature #earthofficial #nationalearth #earthcapture #earthfocus #instagood #bronxzoo #andeancondor #ourplanetdaily #naturegeography #earthofficial #instadaily #wildlifephotography #wildlife #majestic_wildlife_ #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeowners #discoverwildlife #wildlifefriend #wildlifeplanet #wildgeography #exclusive_wildlife #condor

In case any of you were wondering, this is the look of pura vida. ❤️ Sloths are such sweet animals and in their natural habitat they are elusive, tucked away high up in the trees. When I planned my trip to Central America, seeing sloths in the wild was at the very top of my list. I went to all of the locations where I'd have a chance at seeing them, but had no luck. I started to think maybe they didn't exist? 🧐 How will I see these extraordinary and lovable animals, I wondered? I was elated when discovering the jaguarrescuecenterfoundation in Puerto Viejo, where this little cutie was rehabilitating. We rode our rental bikes there to take a tour and get educated on the local wildlife. Sloths have no way of defending themselves. Because of this, they are victims of attacks, or get electrocuted when falling from a tree and hitting power lines, at times resulting in lost limbs. 😢 JRC treats every animal that is brought to them, not just sloths but reptiles, deer, you name it, with the intention of releasing as many as safely possible back into their natural habitats. Their priority is the animals, NOT THE TOURISTS, as made evident when you take the tour. The workers there are volunteers who dedicate their lives to helping these animals. They survive off of meager tips from their tours, but do it because they are filled with passion for their cause. This genuine and touching experience got me thinking, if there was one thing you would dedicate your life to without guarantee of monetary return, what would it be? And for those already following that path, please share your story. 😊 p.s. Can anyone spot the tiny critters snacking on the sloth's munchies? 🤣 P.s.s. Thank you to everyone who shared in yesterday’s post, I’m in awe of your support and valuable insight, what a great open discussion, let’s keep it going! ❤️

Did you know :- The underside of a giraffe's tongues is a light pink color because it does not need as much protection. Their dark tongues have more melanin, which protects them from getting sunburned #giraffe #giraffetongue #melanin #instagood #wildlifephotography #photographylife #canon80d📷 #55_250mm #animallovers #animalphotography #mysorezoo
